Why does RELLS charge membership dues?

As a student organization, we get most of our funding from the school. However, to qualify for this funding we must co-invest in ourselves. Fundraising and membership dues satisfy this requirement.

In the past our funds have paid for the following events:
  • Opening and closing socials
  • Speaking events
  • Mentoring activities
  • Admitted students weekend events
  • RELLS softball teams
  • and more (we're open to suggestions)
If you would like to vote in RELLS meetings or run for office, you must be a dues paying member.

Married students pay more than single students because spouses and kids often are invited to events. A married student whose spouse chooses not to participate in RELLS events may pay the single student rate.
